STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A flurry of posts to social media and the Neighbors function on Ring hit phones across Staten Island in recent days after more mysterious, car-sized drones flew over the borough. The influx of the hovering drones began plaguing New Jersey in November, but quickly spread to Staten Island.

Mysterious drones have been showing up in the skies above New Jersey and other states for weeks, confounding residents and prompting lawmakers to call for more answers as to what exactly is going on.
