The Louisville Cardinals advanced to the NCAA women's volleyball final four in their hometown next week, defeating the nine-time national champion Stanford Cardinal 3-1 Saturday, setting up a match against ACC rival Pittsburgh in the national semifinals.

Senior Sarah Franklin finished with 21 kills in a 25-21, 18-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13 victory over the Aggies on Friday night in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Pushed to the distance Friday night, the Wisconsin volleyball team answered, advancing to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. The Badgers won the fifth and final set over Texas A&M in Lincoln, Neb.

The Volunteers went 30-of-63 from deep in the 40-minute affair. Samara Spencer led the team in scoring, putting up 33 points and hitting nine three-point attempts on her own. All in, nine of the 12 Tennessee players who saw playing time hit at least one shot from beyond the arc.

The Lady Vols made 30 3-pointers against NC Central on Saturday to set an NCAA record for single-game 3-pointers.

No. 19 Tennessee set an NCAA record for 3-pointers and a Southeastern Conference record for total points in a 139-59 win over North Carolina Central on Saturday, topping a 136-point effort for the Lady Vols in a victory over Puerto Rico-Mayaguez in 2002.
