The Kerala High Court has sought a report from the Malappuram District Collector on an elephant reportedly running amok during the BP Angadi Nercha at Tirur on January 8, injuring 29 persons

Revelers fled from the spot as the elephant starting to get agitated. According to a report by NDTV, hundred of people gathered at the Puthiyangadi festival at Tirur. In the video which went viral, five elephants were decorated with with golden plates at the festival.
