The quantum campus in Chicago is adding the new National Quantum Algorithm Center with the technology company IBM being its first major tenant.

IBM officials joined officials from the University of Chicago, the park and Gov. J.B. Pritzker Thursday to announce the National Quantum Algorithm Center featuring IBM’s next generation modular quantum computer. The 128-acre quantum campus is on Chicago’s South Side.

IBM, the tech giant known for revolutionizing computing over the past 70 years, is setting up shop on Chicago’s South Side to develop what could be the field’s
