Russian President Vladimir Putin and incoming United States President Donald Trump have both expressed desires to meet this week, and it now appears that a meeting is moving one step closer

Trump said a meeting between himself and Putin was being set up, however, Putin's spokesman said Moscow had received no requests to set up a meeting.

"He wants to meet. And we're setting it up," Trump said of the Russian leader before a meeting with Republican governors at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. He did not offer a timeline for the meeting.
