The Minnesota Twins could be sold to a new ownership group before Opening Day, according to The Athletic. Minnesota is slated to open the new season on March 27.

In October, Twins owner Joe Pohlad announced that his family was exploring a sale of the franchise. The Pohlad family has owned the Twins for 40 years, so the sale process set the stage for a monumental change for the organization. That could seemingly move quickly.

Twins ownership believes the club could be sold by Opening Day, an industry source briefed on the Twins’ sale process told The Athletic.

In October the Pohlad’s announced they’d explore a sale of the franchise they have owned since 1984. Since then, it appears they’ve found a “robust market” for the sale of the team that could lead to new ownership by Opening Day according to reports.

We learned this past October that the Minnesota Twins were for sale, and now we know that the Pohlad family is moving swiftly to finalize a sale. According to a report in The Athletic, there are several interested buyers and the deal could be done by Opening Day,
