A cause of death for writer and director Jeff Baena, whose credits include “Life After Beth” and “The Little Hours,” has been determined.

Jeff Baena, a filmmaker who was married to actress Aubrey Plaza, was found dead on Friday morning. Law enforcement officials said Baena's cause of death is believed to be suicide, TMZ reported Saturday morning. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office opened up a case into Baena's death, per their website.

Aubrey Plaza has spoken out after the sudden death of her husband, Jeff Baena, whose death by suicide at the age of 47 was announced on Jan. 3. “This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time," Plaza and Baena's family said in a statement on Monday.
