Tripadvisor's Travelers’ Choice Awards ranked Portland and one other New England city in the top 10 nationally for food.

Tripadvisor recently released its Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destination Awards and Boston and Portland, Maine ranked among the 10 best food destinations in the U.S. Boston ranked No. 6 and Portland ranked No. 8.

Boston was named in the top ten “Best of the Best Destinations” in the U.S. for food, earning the sixth spot in Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards. The list encourages visitors to explore beyond the history of the city with museums like the Isabella Stewart Gardner and old neighborhoods like Little Italy.

The Portland Police Bureau is watching out for “copycat” attacks inspired by the deadly Jan. 1 attack in New Orleans in which a driver used a car to mow down New Year’s Day revelers, but it has learned of no specific threats in the Portland area, police said Monday.
