A fan favourite of Toronto Blue Jays fans has found a new franchise. On Sunday afternoon, the Kansas City Royals announced they signed Cavan Biggio to a minor league contract.

The Royals announced that utilityman Cavan Biggio has been signed to a minor league contract. While no mention was made in the team’s official announcement, it can be assumed that Biggio received an invitation to Kansas City’s big league Spring Training camp.

Biggio, 29, has a baseball pedigree. His father, Craig, starred with the Houston Astros and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015. Cavan Biggio has spent six seasons in MLB across stints with the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.
