South Texas residents living on SpaceX property have formally petitioned Cameron County to become an incorporated city.

Citing all the work the company has put into the region, employees are requesting a special election in Cameron County to incorporate a city.

Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr., says registered voters in the proposed Starbase area will have an opportunity to vote on whether to incorporate as Starbase, Texas.
