Arsenal women have named Renee Slegers as their permanent head coach after she impressed during her three-month interim spell in charge of the team.

Slegers left Arsenal without making an appearance and returned to the Netherlands to launch her professional career with Willem II before moving to clubs in Sweden. Slegers, who made 55 appearances for the Dutch national team, was a talented midfielder, as her former international team-mate Leonne Stentler explains.
