Rishabh Pant has been included in Delhi’s squad for its upcoming Ranji Trophy games, whilst Virat Kohli’s name is missing from the 21-member playing list issued by the DDCA on Saturday.

With notable India regulars looking to return to the Ranji Trophy amid BCCI's fresh mandate to prioritise domestic cricket in a bid to push for national team selection, the scheduled start to the second half of the 2024/25 red-ball tournament threw the possibility of Ravindra Jadeja going up against Rishabh Pant after the India all-rounder reportedly joined the Saurashtra camp on Sunday.

Delhi is currently in joint second place in the Elite Group D standings with 19 points, making this match against Saurashtra a pivotal encounter in their campaign

It is understood that Virat Kohli informed the BCCI about his unavailability.Kohli hasn’t played a Ranji Trophy game for Delhi since facing Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad in 2012.

Former India captain Virat Kohli was named in Delhi's squad for their last two league matches of the season. Kohli last played a domestic cricket match in the 2012-13 season.

Rishabh Pant is likely to lead Delhi Cricket team in the Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra. He has confirmed his availability for the fixture. Virat Kohli hasn't yet confirmed whether he will play the fixture or not.

Despite their involvement in the top domestic red-ball tournament being uncertain, Kohli and Pant were listed as Delhi's probables for the remaining Ranji Trophy matches.
