Mac Jones did his part for the Jaguars, completing 20-of-32 passes for 225 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The former Alabama star has been starting for Jacksonville over the past several weeks ever since Trevor Lawrence suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, and Jones has done relatively well for Jacksonville as a makeshift QB1.

Quarterback Mac Jones returning to his hometown to sit behind veteran quarterback Trevor Lawrence and improve as a quarterback has gone about as well as expected. Jones has made the improvement he was hoping for upon joining the Jaguars and the team has a competent backup to Lawrence.

Jones will be a free agent at the conclusion of the season after the Jaguars decided not to pick up his fifth-year option.

One of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mac Jones' primary goals when arriving over the offseason was to improve as a quarterback. He has done precisely that.

Mac Jones will start at quarterback for Jacksonville in the Jaguars’ season finale on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. After that, his football future is unknown.
