Jim Carrey is clearing up his comments about retiring from acting after he claimed he was stepping away from the limelight following Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Carrey reprises his role as Dr. Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 only two years after he said he was retiring.

The actor said he “came back to this [film’s] universe” for two reasons: "First of all, I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch. I bought a lot of stuff, and I need the money, frankly.”
