It has been widely reported that the Golden State Warriors have been in pursuit of another star player since the offseason. Not making a move for Lauri Markkanen or Paul George during the summer, Golden State brought back all of its assets and young players in hopes of finding a batter deal at the trade deadline.

According to Marc Stein's Substack (via HoopsHype ), the Warriors are the best bet of the three teams mentioned in connection with Butler to make a legit play for him. Golden State does have a level of interest in the Heat star and remains very poised to “take a swing” on a significant move.

Player agent Bernie Lee and ESPN reporter Shams Charania are verbally duking it out over reports that Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler wants a trade to the Golden State Warriors, or another contending team.
