Geoff Payne, the father of Liam Payne, is being sued for defamation by the late singer’s friend Roger Nores. The former One Direction star died in October 2024 at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires and now his friend Roger – who was with him in the Argentinian city – has decided to take his late friend’s dad to court.

Rogelio 'Roger' Nores, a friend of the late One Direction star, is suing the singer’s father, Geoff Payne, for defamation, denying claims he contributed to Liam’s tragic death.

Roger Nores alleges Geoff Payne misrepresented his friendship with Liam Payne to a prosecutor, insists he “did not have a legal duty to Liam."

Geoff needs to backtrack on his sworn statement as he very well knows I wasn’t Liam’s nurse or care taker,” Nores tells Page Six.

Nearly three months after Liam Payne ’s death, his friend Roger Nores has reportedly named the singer’s father in a defamation lawsuit.
